The decision takes four minutes instead of ninety seconds.
That is not inefficiency.
That is accountability.
This is the governance question boards must be able to answer:
Who decided the AI decided?
You cannot audit a decision you never consciously made.
Structure is what protects judgment when pressure is high and time is short.
But structure alone is not enough. Because even well-designed decision architecture can optimize for the wrong outcomes at scale.
